Tourism at Minnesota Social Innovation Lab

Do you know that tourism is an $11.3 billion industry in Minnesota? Do you think of yourself, your organization or business as part of it?

Join CultureBrokers Foundation (CBF) as we attend the breakout session, "Strengthening tourism entrepreneurship through social innovation," at the May 22nd MN Social Innovation Lab. The session will be facilitated by new CBF member, Local Flavor's Deborah McLaren, and Tourism and Festivals Specialist Kent Gustafson.

There is an opportunity to realize the vision of ethnic cultural tourism destinations by building networks of locally owned cafes and restaurants, wineries, breweries, farms, specialty shops, artisans, history and heritage centers, food tours, food coops, festivals, alternative transportation (bikes, green cars), inns and resorts, bookstores, independent record stores, craftspeople and many more entrepreneurs coming together to redirect tourism dollars to our local economies. We can grow our collective community and benefit individually by sharing and working together. We can create change.

Minnesota Social Innovation Lab is a place for community changemakers to get new thinking to advance their projects. All perspectives are needed--from businesses, neighborhoods, the arts, families, nonprofits, tech, entrepreneurs, policy, and more. Long-time social innovators and those who are curious and new to the idea are encouraged to attend.
